5 IN 1 Potting Soil

Blended using Triple Power Compost, mulch, humates, fungal compost, fill sand, Decomposed Granite and perlite, this is the best soil you can buy for potting, planting and soil conditioning. Blended for Central Texas, with a pH of 6. It retains plant moisture, moderates root temperature and prevents weed growth.

Lawn Maintenance - Apply 5 in 1 Premium Potting Mix at the rate of 1 1/2-3 bags per 100 square feet,
1/4-1/2" deep. Rake and water well.
Flowers, vegetables, roses, shrubs, trees and potted plants – Apply 1″-2″ around the base of plants and water well.
Re-apply as necessary for dark green foliage and beautiful blooms.

Soil Conditioning – Spread 1″-2″ of  5 in 1 Premium Potting Mix (approximately 8-16 bags per 100 square feet) thoroughly work into the top 4″-6″ of soil prior to planting.

Mulching – Apply 2″ of 5 in 1 Premium Potting Mix (approximately 16 bags per 100 square feet) around the base of plants immediately after new planting and apply in late spring on established plants to retain moisture, moderate soil temperature and prevent weed growth.

 Potting Directions:

1. Water the plant in its old pot, and allow it to drain thoroughly.
2. Repot into a pot that has holes in the bottom to allow for drainage.
3. With one hand, support the plant, turn the container upside down, and lightly tap the bottom of the container to release the soil ball. Hold the soil ball so it doesn’t fall apart.
4. Place the root ball in the center of the new pot partially filled with 5 in 1 Premium Potting Mix.
5. Back fill the remaining space with 5 in 1 Premium Potting Mix up to the top level of the soil ball. Water well to settle the mix around the roots. It is a good idea to use root starter with this watering.

Planting Directions:

1. Prepare the beds by eliminating existing weeds.
2. The transplants will need loose soil (flour-like consistency), free of rocks and other debris. Incorporate enough 5 in 1 Premium Potting Mix to accomplish this.
3. Set plants at proper spacing on the top of the soil. Follow recommended lighting and spacing requirements to allow plants to mature fully.
4. With one hand, support the plant. Turn the container upside down, and lightly tap the bottom of the container to release the soil ball. Hold the soil ball so it doesn’t ball apart.
 5. Prepare a hole large enough to accommodate the soil ball.
6. Set the plant at the same depth at which it was growing in the nursery container, then carefully firm the soil around it.
7. Water immediately and carefully not damaging the tender transplants, allowing water to thoroughly seep to the bottom of the roots. It is good to use a root stimulator with this watering.
8. Top dress with compost and mulch to provide nutrients, prevent weeds, retain water and maintain soil temperature.
